Hatchchild Cabernet Sauvignon

The Hatchchild. Standing on the shoulders of giants.

One can’t just change your position amongst the pantheon of greats (unless it’s 1973, of course), you need to earn your place through arduous and tenuous hard work. The hard work for this wine was laid in the late 1960’s when the Inkameep Vineyard was planted; daringly for the Okanagan to the highest of quality grapes, the King of Grapes at that. Cabernet Sauvignon is not the ideal variety for this far-flung region we call home, but this truly special site harkens out to much more prestigious locales around the world where it’s much more naturally suited. One might say this wine is a result of the magical combination of soil, climate and the devotion of one man, but we all know it takes a village to raise a Hatchchild.
